The Maldives is enhancing tourism links with India through the “Welcome India” roadshow, a joint effort by MMPRC, MATATO, and NHGAM. The initiative, featuring Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal and Advisor Mohamed Khaleel, will visit three major Indian cities and include 24 industry partners.
The roadshow aims to strengthen the Maldives’ presence in India’s key tourist market, showcasing its beaches, resorts, and marine life. With over 65,000 Indian tourists visiting the Maldives in 2024, the roadshow will offer B2B networking and raffle giveaways to attract more visitors.
India remains a vital market, contributing 6.2% to the Maldives’ tourism sector. Future promotions include campaigns with celebrity Malaika Arora and travel platforms Cleartrip and Pickyourtrail.
