The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has launched a new campaign with TVer, Japan’s top ad-supported video-on-demand platform, to promote the Maldives as a prime travel destination from 1st to 29th August 2024.
Established by Tokyo’s five major broadcasters, TVer will feature video ads showcasing the Maldives’ luxurious offerings, including couples’ retreats, underwater adventures, and family-friendly experiences, appearing before and during programmes.
Visit Maldives has actively engaged the Japanese market with social media campaigns, wellness and luxury media trips, and webinars with Malaysian Airlines exploring new routes. As of May 2024, Japan ranks 15th in tourist arrivals to the Maldives with 13,517 visitors.
To boost these numbers, Visit Maldives plans joint promotions with top tour operators, digital campaigns, and participation in Tourism Expo Japan 2024 this September. The campaign will highlight the Maldives’ underwater villas, diverse cuisine, marine life, and rich culture, aiming to attract global travellers and solidify the Maldives as a premier travel destination.
